Anne Dubos is a social anthropologist and transmedia artist.\u00a0<\/p>\n

She studied Anthropology (DEA in 2005 at EHESS), obtained an MA in Political Sciences and Political Arts (SPEAP) at Sciences-Po, IEP Paris under the supervision of Bruno Latour (CNRS\/CSO\/Sciences-Po), and went on to pursue and obtain her PhD in Social Anthropology from the \u00c9cole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) in Paris in 2013.\u00a0<\/p>\n

During her PhD, she spent ten years of extended fieldwork analysing gesture- and movement-transmission in South-Indian theatre.<\/p>\n

Pursuing her research beyond this context, she questions current epistemological and technological advances in movement capture and analysis, and engages in social projects around gesture, performance, and media arrangement (photo, video, sound and VR).\u00a0<\/p>\n

In 2013, she obtained a Post-Doc position at the Institut de Geography Alpine & PACTE, to work in the territory of the Vercors on how humans trace their own perceptions of landscapes, according to their activities. She published three articles on the notion of dwelling in the mountains (\u2018Habiter la pente du Vercors\u2019 2019, \u2018Ludopaysages\u2019 et \u2018Intensitom\u00e9tries\u2019 2020).<\/p>\n

Since 2015, she teaches regularly about her \u2018Gestoth\u00e8que\u2019 at the \u00c9cole nationale sup\u00e9rieure de cr\u00e9ation industrielle ENSCI-Les Ateliers and in the \u00c9cole des Mines de Paris (MINES ParisTech).<\/p>\n

In 2017, she was a social sciences research fellow at the Institute for Advanced Studies, IAS, Nantes and is now a correspondent member of the IAS Nantes.<\/p>\n

She published various articles on the notion of perception and activities of artists (\u2018Le voile du croire\u2019 Piette & Dubos, 2013, \u2018\u00c0 propos d\u2019Eleven\u2019 2016, \u2018L\u2019ambiance n\u2019a pas de c\u00f4t\u00e9\u2019 2018) the notion of serendipity as a motor for knowledge (\u2018La Gestoth\u00e8que in translation\u2019, 2019,\u2019des motifs al\u00e9atoires\u2019 2019) as well as a series of interviews with artists about their methodology of work (\u2018Pr\u00e9sences et D\u00e9placements\u2019 Dubos & Nisic 2015, \u2018The Calder Effect\u2019 Dubos & Schacher 2019).<\/p>\n

As an artist, she founded the company Little Heart Movement which is hosted at Stereolux, a cultural and research centre of the city of Nantes. She regularly collaborates with IRCAM\u2019s ISMM group and is a co-founder of the Movement Analysis Network (MovA).<\/p>\n

In 2018, she is was a guest artist at the Zurich University of the Arts, for her project \u2018Les Mains Negatives\u2019.<\/p>\n

In 2019, she was awarded the ARCADI prize to develop the project \u201cAugmented Gestures\u201d that involves performing sound with sensors in a stage situation and for migrant communities. In collaboration with Jan Schacher, she designed an immersive installation for a virtual cave painting experience \u2018Paleograph\u2019\u2019, exhibited at the Saulges Caves Museum and sponsored by the R\u00e9gion Pays de Loire.<\/p>\n

In 2020, the DRAC Rh\u00f4ne-Alpes (direction r\u00e9gionales des affaires culturelles) funds her project \u2018Sonographies\u2019, in which she compares human traces to scores. She is also funded by the French Institute (Paris-Cluj) for her project \u2018Cosmophanies\u2019, which is an arrangement of her own archive of Romanian land- & soundscapes.<\/p>\n

Anne Dubos est docteur en anthropologie sociale de l\u2019\u00c9cole des Hautes \u00c9tudes en Sciences Sociales de Paris (2013). Elle est aussi artiste transm\u00e9dia (danse, performance, photographie, vid\u00e9o).\u00a0Sa recherche ethnographique met en \u00e9vidence la vari\u00e9t\u00e9 des techniques du corps de l\u2019acteur des th\u00e9\u00e2tres indiens. Sa pratique anthropologique s\u2019int\u00e9resse tant aux objets fondamentaux (l\u2019esth\u00e9tique indienne, la cognition, la prax\u00e9ologie) qu\u2019\u00e0 la conception de dispositifs exp\u00e9rimentaux pour la recherche en th\u00e9\u00e2tre et en danse.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Depuis 2015, elle enseigne l\u2019anthropologie du corps pour des \u00e9coles d\u2019arts et de design (\u00c9cole d\u2019architecture de Paris La Villette, ENSCI-Les Ateliers) comme au Mines Paris-Tech, au sein du Master AiMove (Intelligence artificielle et mouvement). Elle est \u00e9galement l\u2019auteur d\u2019un Mooc<\/i> diffus\u00e9 sur la plateforme Fun\u00a0: La Gestoth\u00e8que <\/i>(2018). <\/i>Depuis 2018, elle est membre correspondant de l\u2019Institut d\u2019\u00c9tudes Avanc\u00e9es de Nantes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u00c0 la recherche de nouveaux paradigmes elle examine aujourd\u2019hui l\u2019\u00e9mergence de th\u00e9ories sur la perception du geste, du mouvement et la cognition. Elle a ainsi fond\u00e9 la compagnie Little Heart Movement<\/i>, au sein de laquelle collaborent danseurs, com\u00e9diens, artistes num\u00e9riques, ing\u00e9nieurs, informaticiens, chanteurs, musiciens, anthropologues, g\u00e9ographes, architectes, psychologues (bio)m\u00e9caniciens et philologues. Elle est \u00e9galement l\u2019un des membres fondateurs du r\u00e9seau MovA<\/i> (movement analysis network).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u00c0 Paris, en Inde, en Roumanie, comme \u00e0 Nantes ou aux \u00c9tats-Unis, elle organise des ateliers transdisciplinaires d\u2019\u00e9veil aux techniques du corps, o\u00f9 chaque danseur est invit\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019improvisation \u00e0 la fois comme auteur et comme interpr\u00e8te au sein d\u2019un dispositif de narration collective.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

En tant qu\u2019artiste, sa recherche a \u00e9t\u00e9 soutenue et financ\u00e9e par Stereolux, la ville de Nantes. En 2017, elle a re\u00e7u le prix FSIR d\u2019Arcadi pour sa pi\u00e8ce des_gestes_augment\u00e9s<\/i>. En 2018 elle \u00e9tait l\u2019invit\u00e9e de la Haute \u00c9cole des Arts de Zurich pour sa pi\u00e8ce Les Mains N\u00e9gatives<\/i>. Sa pi\u00e8ce Pal\u00e9ograph\u2019<\/i>, fut financ\u00e9e par la R\u00e9gion pays de Loire. Depuis 2019 l\u2019Institut Fran\u00e7ais soutient la cr\u00e9ation de sa pi\u00e8ce Cosmophanies<\/i>.
En 2020, elle b\u00e9n\u00e9ficiait d\u2019une bourse de la DRAC Rh\u00f4nes-Alpes pour sa cr\u00e9ation Sonographies<\/i>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
